History and Mission

The Centre for Research in EPIdemiology and preventive MEDicine (EPIMED) of the Insubria University at Varese, established November 22, 2010. Nowadays the EPIMED Centre pertains to the Department of Clinical and Experimental Medicine. The Director of the Centre is Professor Marco M. Ferrario.

The primary aim of the Centre is to promote applied research in the biomedical field and the development of epidemiological methodology and statistics applied to biological phenomena and the pathologies of social significance. The specific fields of research only those developed by the staff who schemes. In the LINK listed in this website are listed areas of ongoing research.

By nature and vocation it is an inter-disciplinary centre, capable of activating scientific collaborations on issues characterizing and application of research methodology and statistics in different clinical settings and public health.

The Centre is part of a consortium of national and international research.
